Melanotan 1 (afamelanotide) is a melanocortin peptide that stimulates melanin, the pigment behind tanning. It is studied for photoprotection and skin conditions, and is the more selective sibling of Melanotan 2.
Preparing and storing: supplied as a freeze-dried powder. Add bacteriostatic water down the inside wall of the vial and swirl gently rather than shaking. Keep the mixed vial in the fridge and out of light; sealed vials keep longest in the freezer.
